Technical Laboratories Opava a.s. is one of the highest-rated accredited organizations in the Czech Republic and a recognized independent testing and certification authority. Since 2000, we have been providing comprehensive services in the areas of calibration, testing, inspections, and certification.
In our daily work, we test and assess machinery as well as consumer products, verify the accuracy of measuring instruments, and provide professional service and repairs for TESA instruments and other global brands. We also focus on thorough inspections of technical equipment, tools, and both new and operational lifting systems or elevators. Furthermore, we pass on all of our know-how through professional training programs in our own training center.

The activities of individual departments of TECHNICKÉ LABORATOŘE OPAVA are in accordance with European standards and their professional level is documented by accreditations of the Czech Accreditation Institute or accreditation by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs:
- Testing laboratory – accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025, performs testing of mining reinforcement, machinery and equipment including mining, mining and general hydraulics, ropes, noise measurement, non-destructive testing and tests of temperature, climate, solar simulations and corrosion resistance of products.
- Calibration laboratory of geometric quantities – accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025, performs calibrations in the field of length and plane angle.
- Product Certification Body – accredited in accordance with ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17065, assesses machinery for mining, boring, transport and underground work, heavy equipment, material handling, hydraulic and pneumatic mechanisms, plastic products, steel ropes and fastening devices. It carries out assessments of lifting equipment and lifts.
- Inspection body – accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17020, carries out Type A inspection activities for new and operating lifting equipment, lifts, machinery and means of folk entertainment.
- Training and Education Facility – accreditation within the scope of Act 309/2006 Sb. – prevention of risks in the field of OSH including testing. Training of inspection technicians for gas, pressure and lifting equipment.
TLO, joint stock company is an Authorised Body 251 under EU legislation and a Notified Body 1384 for conformity assessment for these products:
- Machinery for underground work of the following types: hydraulically operated mechanized reinforcement according to NV No. 176/2008 Sb.
- Equipment for lifting people or people and loads where there is a risk of falling from a height exceeding a vertical distance of more than three metres according to government regulation No. 176/2008 Sb.
- Lifts according to government regulation No. 122/2016 Sb.

Authorization to perform the activities of a notified body for the conformity assessment of elevators and their safety components pursuant to Act No. 90/2016 and Government Regulation No. 122/2016 Coll.
Extension of the existing authorization to include products defined in point 17 of Annex 4 to Government Regulation No. 176/2008: “Equipment for lifting persons or persons and loads where there is a risk of a fall from a height exceeding a vertical distance of more than three meters.”

Certification is carried out based on a certification application submitted by the customer using the appropriate form. The form is available from the certification body, which will send it to the customer in written or electronic form upon request.
The results of the certification process are provided to the customer in the form of test reports, an evaluation report, and a certificate.
