Marking Laser
A marking laser is a highly advanced device that utilizes a laser beam for permanent marking or engraving of various materials. This technology finds wide application not only across industrial sectors but also in the automotive industry, medical sector, or electronics.
From a technological perspective, it is a device that generates a coherent light beam with high energy, capable of creating a permanent symbol, logo, identification numbers, QR code, or text on the surface of the selected material. This entire process is non-contact and is characterized by very high precision. Thanks to its accuracy, the marking laser is an excellent tool for precise and flawless industrial marking (EAN, labels, QR codes).
The most suitable materials for marking are metallic materials:
- stainless steel
- carbon or alloy steel
- aluminum and its alloys
- gold
- silver
Other materials that are also suitable for fiber laser marking include non-metallic materials such as plastics, leather, or stone. For these materials, a flat surface intended for marking or engraving is not a requirement.
Marking laser – Fiber laser Numco NU
In our laboratory, we utilize a unique and fully functional marking laser from the Numco brand. Marking lasers of this brand use modern FIBER technology for fast and completely precise marking or engraving on all metallic and non-metallic materials. Thanks to this technology, these marking lasers achieve a conversion efficiency of up to 50%, which significantly reduces energy costs and heat emissions.

What sets the fiber laser apart from other technologies?
- Higher efficiency: Fiber lasers are much more efficient and less costly than CO2 lasers.
- Longer lifespan: The absence of complex optical components minimizes wear and tear and increases their lifespan. Consequently, fiber lasers often achieve a lifespan of up to 100,000 operating hours.
- High beam quality: Fiber lasers generate a beam with a very small diameter and high energy density, allowing for fine and detailed marking.
- Wide compatibility of marking materials: Fiber lasers can be used on a diverse range of materials, which can be both metallic and non-metallic in nature.
